Welcome to Tilba Lake Farm

We ditched our hectic city life in favour of a more relaxed pace in beautiful Tilba (NSW). After carefully crafting our boutique accommodation business “Tilba Lake House” it was our guests who encouraged us to bring you Tilba Lake Farm a place where you can ‘eat direct from the farm’, ‘stay connected to nature, surrounded by unspoilt beauty & ancient culture’ and ‘be inspired to live more sustainably’.

The boutique accommodation of Tilba Lake House was established by Rebecca and Tim Jones in July 2015 when they made the decision to exchange their hectic lives in Sydney for a more relaxed pace in beautiful Tilba in the picturesque south coast of New South Wales.

Now, with the encouragement of their guests, they have set up Tilba Lake Farm, where visitors can stay, eat and be inspired to live more sustainably. Tilba Lake Farm offers paddock-to-plate experiences including cooking classes on a stunning country coastal property.

Set on eleven acres, Tilba Lake Farm includes an extensive vegetable garden, orchard and herb garden, all grown using organic principles. Also in residence are two Clydesdale horses, Highlander chickens and Archie the friendly farm dog.

Only quality, free range and locally sourced ingredients are used in the Tilba Lake Farm cooking classes including produce from local farmers, fishermen, gardeners and artisan producers.

Sustainable living & cooking classes are led by Rebecca Jones, a former Lifestyle and Sustainability presenter, backed up by a supporting cast of local cooks and producers.

Rebecca Jones

Rebecca has spent 15 years running sustainability workshops and cooking demonstrations to passionate foodies and amateur cooks. With country roots and a degree in Environment Science she is a practical and passionate cook with a wealth of knowledge on all things sustainable and a passionate desire to share her skills with others.

In 2015 Rebecca and her family relocated to Central Tilba and established Tilba Lake House, a boutique accommodation, and Tilba Lake Camp, a glamping experience.

Rebecca says, “I always thought I’d end up back in the country one day. Then it hit me that life is far too short to be waiting for ‘one day’. The time to live your dreams is now!”

Tim Jones

Tim worked in IT for 20 something years in various positions – developer, sales, General Manager and business owner. However his heart always yearned for something more meaningful, more rewarding and more balanced.

Since Tim discovered a little piece of paradise in Central Tilba whilst on holidays, he hasn’t looked back. Whether it is building a highly successful accommodation business or building a chicken coop he has fully embraced the country coastal lifestyle.

Self-taught cheesemaker, bread maker and home brew enthusiast Tim teaches his classes with gusto and will inspire participants to start their own cooking and life adventures.

Zac Jones

Zac is the junior member of the Tilba Lake Farm team. Attending tiny Central Tilba Public School, Zac brings youth and uninhibited enthusiasm to whatever he does. At Tilba Lake Farm you’ll probably find Zac tending the vegetable gardens and maintaining the on-farm swimming pool. Zac’s cooking career is still in development but he can already make a droolworthy Tilba cheese toastie!

Archie Jones

Archie Jones is the newest addition to the Tilba Lake Farm team. Head of the welcoming committee, Archie has an infectious smile and exceptional tail wagging abilities. Archie’s pretty much living the dream on this 11 acre property and will be sure to make your Tilba Lake Farm experience extra special.

Aussie & Christmas

Tilba Lake Farm charming draught horses have become icons, with locals and tourists alike stopping to pat them and feed them carrots at the farm gate. Aussie and Christmas are brothers and have been around since before Tilba Lake Farm was brought into existence. They’re not used for riding but they do an awesome job of keeping the paddocks slashed and our guests entertained.
